Strategies to reduce food waste
There are a number of strategies we can all employ:
create a shopping list and stick to it to avoid impulse purchases
plan meals to avoid food waste
shop with a family member or friend and share the cost of multipack items
check the date on foods and choose food with the longest date
store food correctly
use leftover food and be versatile with ingredients
freeze food
be careful not to be influenced by marketing strategies, these can lead to you buying more than you need
when eating out, bring your leftover food home to eat (if the restaurant allows)
