Under Gustav Stresemann, 1923 to 1929 was a period of relative growth, stability and improved confidence for Germany and the German people.

US loans helped Germany to recover economically, easing the reparations crisis of the early 1920s. Relations with foreign countries improved. This period also saw a development in German art and culture.
